Abstract

Of all the places of colonial dancing in Australia, Parramatta has one of the longest stories. This year’s Heritage Ball held by the Bush Music Club at the Parramatta Town Hall added a new dimension to this chronicle.

Heather Blasdale Clarke, Queensland University of Technology

Heather Blasdale Clarke is the world’s leading exponent on early Australian colonial dance history.  She is currently undertaking doctoral research into the culture of dance and music for early Australian convicts 1788-1840 at Queensland University of Technology [Australia].
