‘Staunchly Your Friend’: Mary Mackillop and Friendship
Keywords:
Religion,Abstract
Sr. Cresp, a longtime member of the Order founded by Sr. Mary MacKillop, has elected to dwell on one aspect of the life of this recently canonized founder of her Order. This core of her life is linked to Aelred of Rievaulx’s De spiritali amicitia (‘Spiritual Friendship’), of c.1160. Here the spiritual quality is explored as it was practised by the new Saint.
