Coming to 'Just Terms' with the Indigenous People: To Be or Not To Be (A Republic) - That is the question
Abstract
The following sequential material is an excerpted version of various speeches and replies made by the Prime Minister, the Right Honourable Paul Keating, on the occasion of his first official visit to New Zealand in late May, 1993. His remarks have both comparative value in the year of the World's Indigenous People and an objectivity which was lost in June 1993 as the 'Mabo Debate' became progressively more heated and politicized.
