The journal Arqueologia is a peer-reviewed open access journal which focuses primarily on archaeological research conducted in the Americas or by researchers based at universities in the Americas. The journal does not focus on any specific time period.

Research Articles
Arqueologia publishes several main types of articles, including research articles, short reports, and summary-synthesis articles, and special category articles such as editorials, interviews, and reviews of books and events. The journal also publishes special issues comprised of monographs or instructional manuals. Authors who are interested in writing special category articles or editing a special issue should contact the editors to discuss this in advance. You may contact the editor-in-chief in advance (with a manuscript or abstract) if you have any questions on whether a particular manuscript would be of a suitable topic for this journal.
Arqueologia is published online and is freely available to the general public in the spirit of open scholarship. (There are no fees to download articles, nor are there any fees to submit, review or publish articles.) As an electronic publication, we encourage authors to take advantage of the wide variety of media available in this format in addition to those available in the traditional paper format.
