The present article has as objective presents partial results of the research done along the Caminho do Itupava, particularly the part that crosses the Serra do Mar mountain range. These studies synthesize the technical and scientific institutional efforts that significantly broadened the knowledge of the insertion of the Itupava trail’s dynamics in relation to the environmental diversity and the socioeconomic development during the formation of the state of Paraná. To achieve this, questions were made, new directions pointed out and scientific research simulated, all this based on historical and archeological data.
